I want my XP system to act like my Windows 2000 system. I've turned off the Welcome screen but I see no option for that requires CONTROL+ALT+DELETE to logon.

In documentation it mentions an "Advanced" tab within the Users control panel. I am unable to see such a tab.

Thankyou for any suggestions.

Right click MY COMPUTER -> PROPERTIES -> ADVANCED (tab)

After this I am unsure as we don't have XP at work so I can't look and I cannot remember where it is today.

But look there and you might find what you are seeking...

Cheers!

Hope this may help

Click on Start-Control Panel-User Accounts-Change the way users log on

Take the tick-off the "welcome screen" paragraph

(this will disable the welcome screen)

Click on Start-Run then type "control userpasswords2"

Now click on the "advanced" tab, then at the bottom half of the screen is the section on "secure logon"

Place a tick in the box marked "require users to press CTRL-ALT-Del"

That's it me-thinks!

Yeah, that sounds about right, I think theonlytazman nailed it because that sounds familiar...

It's rough getting old cause I sure don't remember stuff the way I used to... [bigsmile]

Cheers!
