ctrl+ alt+ del end task question 3

Someone just asked me if they could damage their user profile by hitting ctrl+ alt+ del and end tasking. I have never heard of this before. Is it possible?

I could see it happening..

if you shut down a system process in the middle of it doing something...

or because its microsoft...

most of the time we dont end task critical windows programs... just the occasional word

Anything is possible, but it's less likely to occur in XP than earlier operating systems, nevertheless it is for these risks that we maintain a good backup routine.

Try to terminate a process and read the warning message box that appears.
