I would like an advice about the CTP test. If anyone took that test, what material they used or they recommend. My back ground is telecommunication not networking. I’m certified tech on PBX from different manufactures Nortel, avaya, Toshiba.currentely the CTP certificate is a requirement to complete the certification in order to get free support from the manfcaturs.I appreciates any advice.

I appreciate the replay, however I already got some material from this site, its looks OK. I was just wondering if anyone on the forum went thru this test or has any advice from his past experience that he can offer that could help me.

Because the exam covers a broad spectrum of knowledge, you could spend a lot of money buying books trying to cover it all. I have not found any one book that would do the trick. One solution is to do google searches for each individual objective. You can find a wealth of white papers and other pdfs to build your own book. Just hone those search skills and do some drill down. The info is out there.

I have now

- Telecommunications Essentials
- Handbook Communications Systems and Networks
- Sybex - Cabling The Complete Guide to Network Wiring
- Sybex N+ book

maybe is enough?

I doubt it will be enough but it is a start.
