Hello Everyone!
I am having a problem with my Aloha BOH.
Our server recently died, so we got a new one, and installed he old hard drive in the new machine.
Everything is fine, except that the CtlSvr will not run.
When I run Aloha, I get the error "CtlSvr has been disconnected. Try to reconnect?"
And if I try to run the service manually, I get the error 1067: The process terminnated unexpectedly.

Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated.

Juan

You said the server died, is it the same brand and model?
Is the old operating system being used or did you just install the old HD as a second drive on the new server?

What version of Aloha are you using?

Do you have the orignal install disks?

yea if its a different model you might want to check the nic card is on the right lana number

The server is a different brand and model.
The operating systems and the software was kept the same (W2K).

So the Network Card is also a different one.

alohahello, what is a "lana number". Where do I check that? Will that prevent the service from running?

Oh, and I do not have the installation disks.

Thank you guys!

Juan

The lana number is set with the software lanacfg.exe that is provided with Aloha and should be installed on your HD.

Is your hasp key connected and installed on the new server?

Yes, the key is correctly connected.
The Lana number was set to 3, which I understand is incorrect.
I now set it to 0, but I am still having the same problem.

Actually, it seems to work now!!!!
Thank you guys so much.

I could've spent hours trying everything, and I would've never have thought of these LANA numbers.

Thanks!

yea after you change the lana number you always need to reboot the system to take effect. good to hear you are up and running.

if you just popped the drive in another pc i will delete all the phantom devices still installed from the other board. if you are running win2k go to environmental variables and add
devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices and put the value as 1. When you open up device manager you can select show hidden devices and it will display all the old stuff in grey. remove those especially for your back up modem. It makes it fail to initial port on occasion.
