We have two CallManagers CM-A (Publisher) and CM-B (Subscriber).

Phones register with CM-B, but CTIManager is running on both. Is this correct? Most CTI Active ports are on CM-A which seems wrong to me.

I've read that you can have two CTIManager services running and that one is set to Primary and the other Backup. How would I counfigure this?

Also, does it matter in which order the two servers are started? Do I have to start B then A or the other way round? Or does this not matter and that the phones/cti ports etc will work out where to go etc etc?

THANKS

Always start your publisher before your subscriber (and reboot your publisher before your subscriber, if circumstances allow). Also, you want phones, CTI ports, any device that registers to register with your SUBSCRIBER, not your publisher CCM. Let the subscriber handle all the call processing, and let the phones fail over to your publisher as a backup method.

I run CTIManager on all three of my CCM's; CTIManager is used for the Attendant Consoles and hunt groups. Basically, whatever server you have running the CallManager service, turn on the RIS Data Collector service AND CTIManager service.

See this for an explanation of CCM services and on which boxes (publisher or subscriber) they should be activated:
