Okay, something a bit different from the overabundance of normal Printer problems !!

I have a contact who has asked if CTI will work in a Citrix/Thin Client environment, and if so any recommended Telephony switches? I replied "Good Question" so here I am, any info would be appreciated.

(From the MetaFrame 1.8/XP Administrators Guide)

Client Audio Mapping allows applications running on the server to play sounds through a sound device on the client device.

Considering that audio is server-to-client only over ICA (or RDP), the answer must be "no".

Shame, really - I can think of several good reasons for a bi-directional audio stream in a Citrix session - especially now that 1Gbit LAN cards are becoming so cheap.

For this type of application, you're better off with a VoIP or similar solution, for the time being...

Hope this helps CitrixEngineer@yahoo.co.uk

That was my first reaction, however, it's an interesting one, as I have been doing some more digging, and found a company online ( who seem to suggets that they can and have done this using a Lucent INDeX Telephony switch! Gonna try and speak to them later today. I will post any info I manage to obtain, any that I am able too at least.
