New to this! We are using ORACLE for DW.
I created a catalog on my PC using .mdb- ODBC. Just looked and my catalog and my extension is .mdb. This is wrong? Do i have to download Oracle Discover Desktop and recreate my ODBC as oracle not .mdb.??

Can you please explain what should i do and if i have to recreat ODBC what will happend to my existing catalog that has an extension of .mdb?

Thank you for your HELP!

Hi,

In DecisionStream (and Data Manager), your catalog is held as a series of tables in a relational database. The database used is entirely your choice. It looks like at the moment you have used an MS Access database for this purpose (.mdb). You could choose to leave your catalog where it is, or if you prefer you can re-create it in Oracle - it's entirely your choice. If you do want to do this, first create a backup of your catalog as it stands (File/Backup Catalog). This will save all your current work into a text file backup (.ctg). Then create a new catalog using your Oracle database as the connection. Once this has been done, restore the backup you took (File/Restore Catalog), and all your work will now be in your Oracle catalog tables.

Hope that helps.

MF.
