Customer has a MICS 6.1. and claims their CTA was working just fine until they swapped the existing M-7310 set for an M-7324.

Now they can't use their auto dialer at all (with M/S Outlook I believe).

Is there something in programming that would affect the CTA when the station port is reformatted for a different phone?

Did they swap an old phone (previously plugged in phone) in while set relocation is active? That would change the DN of the work station and definitely affect the CTA set up.

Nope. It's definitely not a set relocation issue but they did reformat the port from a 7310 to a 7324.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know squat about the CTA's and I'm having trouble finding any good documentation on them.

I'm not even sure if it's a CTA-100 or 200 and I don't even know what operating system they're using on the pc but apparently it was working just fine for years until they swapped phone types.

I'm wondering if any of the ATA settings might have changed when they swapped sets and if that would even have any effect on the CTA?

Of course in this case it wouldn't surprise me at all if they also did some kind of change or upgrade on the PC, right about the same time they thought it would be a good idea to change phone types. :)

I suppose a bad set could have explained why it quit working although I would think that replacing it with any good set would have corrected the problem.

Just dialed into the RAD for grins to look at port status on B2 and it's enabled but it shows to be unequipped. In this case I was thinking it should be showing an active connection to the PC on B2. (??)

I guess the next step should be to try to reinstall it on the PC, assuming that the customer still has the installation CD and key code. lol

I'm still open to any other suggestions on this and thanks for the help!

CTA units are ridiculously finicky...Shut down the PC, make sure the phone is connected to the unit and functioning correctly, then reboot the PC that it's plugged into, once it goes through it's startup verify that the Ext# has remained the same and the connection should re-establish.

Thanks Mike, I'll give that a shot too!

Just found out that they had a power outage and possible power surges that day and that numerous other devices also failed the very same day. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that it took out both the phone and the CTA.

Tried rebooting with no success.

I guess I just have two questions left on this:

1) Is anyone here familiar enough with this product to know if plugging a different phone type in would cause the CTA to malfunction or require some reprogramming?

2) Does anyone know of a better alternative product (other than a BCM) for a MICS 6.1 customer using Win XP and the M/S Outlook dialing program?

I'm sure they will eventually want to migrate up to Windows 7 (or higher) but as I understand it, the CTA's aren't compatible with any Windows OS beyond XP.

Thanks again for all the help!
