CTA 100 Installation - Need Help Desperately!!!! 1

Hello,

We are currently using a Norstar phone system and have had 8 boxes of CTA 100 modules sitting in the back of our office. We now need the functionality. The software install appears to work except when I also include installing the toolkit. The module connects by phoneline and serial port. If I include the toolkit in the install, the installation hangs. The OS is Windows 2000.

Documentation says the module is NT4 compatible but a call to Nortel and a check of their site says it is also Win 2000 compatible. As I am on the business side (my knowledge is unfortunately a bit limited in this area) and our techs can't figure it out. I thought I'd try here. I also don't understand the different types of TAPI lines but have tried all different configurations and they still don't work.

Any help would be amazing!!!!

There is a patch to use with win2000. You need to contact Nortel and get the patch and it should function correctly. Good luck!!

Amazing! Thanks! I have been trying to look for a location to download the patch. Unfortunately, we do not currently have and at this time cannot afford Nortel's service contract so I guess I am out of luck. I'm a little disappointed that Nortel wouldn't at least make patches free providing that the customer has the original software and hardware. Thanks though for all your help. I really appreciate you taking the time to help!

If you were to score yourself a copy of Nortel Networks Personal Productivity Suite 2.1 for Norstar you would have all the required TAPI software for Windows 2000 and Win9x.
It is a large application roughly 168 MB.
