Dear All,

I hope you can help me with this one.
Whenever I run CSVDE to export stuff and include multiple argument filter, I get an error message ex:

csvde –f whatever.csv –r (&(objectCategory=computer)(operatingSystem=Windows NT*))

The error I get is: operatingSystem was unexpected at this time.

No matter what query I try it always comes back with something unexpected at this time.

When I run the same query in Saved Queries or LDP or anywhere else, it’s fine. I even created a structured query in Saved Queries and pasted it after the –r in csvde and it still fails.
It is problematic as I need to export most of the stuff using CSVDE and filter it in Excel……

I use Windows 2003 SP1 OS.

Any help appreciated.

Regards,

Michael

try getting rid of the wildcard and matching the OS name exactly...seems like I had this problem with ldifde once and that did the trick.

ADGod,

Thank you for the reply. It seems as though, apart from yourself no one has any idea about AD queries....

I've actually figured it out. All I need to do is to add double quotation marks in the query "(&(objectCategory=computer)(operatingSystem=Windows NT*))"
Simple as that. Tried all combinations and it works....

Thanks again.

Regards,

Michael

well ill be damned i didnt even notice you were missing the quotation marks....lol.
i was about to give you a vbscript to use :)
