CSV Problem

I have a CSV file that needs to be uploaded into an order management system. The CSV file contains a column full of fees to be charged to clients. The cells are formatted as general so $100.00 is simply shown as 100. The problem I'm running into is when the file is loaded into the OMS, it converts the number to $1.00 so all the fees are off. If I try to reformat the cells in the column as numbers prior to uploading to the OMS, it simply ignores the formatting change.

Has anybody come across an issue like this? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

In Excel, check in Tools Options, and turn OFF the option Automatically insert a decimal point

Looks like that feature was already turned off. Can you think of anything else that might work?

Sounds like your OMS is working with cents. Multiply by 100.

Formatting is a DISPLAY feature. The underlying value remains UNCHANGED.

If the values in this column needs to be changed, then a CONVERSION must occur. If you need to mulitply by 100, then...

1. enter 100 in an unused cell.

2. COPY this cell

3. SELECT the data in your column of concern.

4. Edit > Paste Special -- MULTIPLY.
