Hey people,

has anyone started messing with CSS2's Aural tag? I've been trying to get it to work but have had no luck. I can use other CSS2 features successfully so I know my browser's up to it but the Aural doesn't want to sing (so to speak).

Some links about Aural:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The links you provided mention that the aural spec converts the encapsulated text (together with some options) to plain text, then sends it of to a screen-reader which processes the text and produces speech through a synthesizer.

Do you have a screen-reader application running when you are testing your pages?

Ahhhhh.
I see.
No, no I don't.

Okay, so this is lovely accessability funtionality that isn't easily tested. I suppose the supplemental question would be:

Where do you get screen-reader applications? Are they add-ons or things to buy?

Thanks for your help and pointing that out, Arion23.
