Netscape 6.2 seems to handle things like:

input[type='reset']{background-color:#ffffff;BORDER:1px outset}

with no problems, however I can't seem to get Internet Explorer to work, seemingly whatever I try, nothing happens.
I am using version 6.0. Windows 2000.

any ideas?

yeash i've had problems with this also! seems IE just doesnt support that syntax. Ive tried input:text as a pseudo-class also but that doesnt work. Id be very interested if anyone has a crossbrowser solution to this as the only way i have been able to so far is with classes for each sub type of input. very annoying!!

Personally I find this ridiculous, anyone else feel the same?

yeah very ridiculous yet slightly refreshing to have IE on the end of a bit of stick for a change.....not that i wouldnt trade that in for some attribute selector support...you hearing me Bill?
