CSS z-positioning

I am currently trying to overlap a graphic over a text box using CSS, more specifically the z-index. Everything looks fine, but the textbox, which is now behind the image isn't working correctly. The links in the main box are unclickable:
I'm not sure how to go about fixing this problem - any input would help. Thanks!
 
Edit your CSS file:
- in #infobox remove z-index: -1;
- in #karpic add z-index: 1;
