I have seen several examples of simple watermarks, but so far none of them I've see allows color to be added to a table or table element without blocking view of the body background. I've set up a example of what I am trying to do at

Netscape doesn't support anything of the kind at all.

Mozilla (current version, partial in previous) and IE (from 6.0, partial in 5.x) both do (with in each case some restrictions) and are getting better with each version.
Netscape 6 and 7 have partial support too, forget about Netscape 4 and earlier and IE versions < 4.

Is there a way it can? I saw a small graphic of a site that showed it could be done.
