CSS positioning

Hi,

I have used external CSS for formatting in the past, but am now trying to use it for positioning as well.

I can make it work in Firefox, but in IE, it’s all over the place.
Positioning is done using pixels if that makes a difference.

Am I doing something weird, or is this one of those browser issues that mean more work?

I have run my CSS code through the W3C validator and it is fine – my HTML code is a bit weird due to it being hosted on a free site and it adds some code. However, I have tested it on a paid for host and the problem is still there, so the extra code seems to be irrelevant.
