Help! I've been told by the programmer I'm building a layout for that I have to do it all in CSS positioning instead of tables, and I've never done it before.
I tried the CSS forum, but no luck- can anyone tell me where to find a really basic tutorial that show how to position text and images- it's got rollovers etc.
I have tried some stuff out, but the images won't sit where I want.

Sometimes, when my code just won't behave, I take it outside and make it listen to britney spears music, and when it comes back it's really well behaved. I wonder if it's suffering from post tramatic stress syndrome now..

I'd advise that you design in CSS1 with a little bit of CSS2, starting the design process for mozilla 1.3 or netscape 6.2 and then check it in IE6. IE generally breaks all the rules, so make workarouds for that rather than the other way round.

Some nice CSS layouts for you to steal and utilise yourself:
