I have a master site page that uses the default css style for a ASP.net site.
I would like to make it wider but everything I change in the CSS file seems to have no impact.

I tried increaing the .page width from 960 to 1400 under 'Primary Layout Elements' but there was no change.
Please advise.

Dazed and confused.

Remember.. 'Depression is just anger without enthusiasum'.

I would use FireBug in FireFox, or IE or Chrome Dev tools.
In there you can inspect different elements on the page and see it's related css. Also, you can change the properties on the fly to see if it has any affect.
Use one of those to determine what element to change and in what CSS
