css only navigation ideas

I have a nav bar that already uses javascript for the drop down so I don't want to use more js. I don't want to add images. I want to spruce it up with only css but am running out of ideas. Any favorite resources? I want something simple yet elegant, don't we all? I'm getting stuck finishing the rest of the design because I don't like the navigation. Here is what I currently have:
