Trying to get some effect on a button type field. I want to change some properties when mouse hovers over the button field.

No problem with FF but it does not work in IE

Should I use JS? (I rather not and hope there is a CSS solution to this).

Thanks!

I reckon you're working with <button> tag. Furthermore, I reckon you're using the :hover pseudo class to change the properties. And finally, I reckon you're testing it in IE6.

Then yes, it does not work in IE6 and you will need to either use javascript to change the status or use anchor instead. I would recommend either using anchor, loading IE6 only external non-obtrusive javascript or simply ignoring IE6 users and give fancy hover effects only to people who don't use outdated browsers.
