Css alignment

Hi guys,
I am fairly new to CSS and am having a very frustrating problem to do with alignment of div elements. All I want do is have certain elements on the page line up- simple right? Well im struggling a bit. If any one can help I would appreciate it. See the link below for the index page... the css is in the same directory and is called style.css.
