I have CS2 and saved a huge file as an INDD file for my printer. He said they use version CS1 and can't read my files.

How can I save my files as an older version such as CS1

I "packaged" my file which of course saves the fonts and links. I see how to export as an interchange but there is no way to package the file and save in CS1 format.

Suggestions?

...you can't package and export to CS1 at the same time, you'll have to save the .inx file in the already packaged folder...

...when this .inx file is opened in CS1 your print provider will likely have to update the links manually anyway and also the fonts in some cases...

...if you have concerns with this and don't trust your print provider then send a pdf instead...

A properly produced PDF file should be considered more ideal than just as an alternative. Ask your printer for their preferred PDF profile.

...yes jimoblak, quite right too, thank you for this important addition...
