I have an ssc media card (media gateway) in a rel 4.5w system that has been acting up for months. The card in the system is labeled media gateway 31. Whats happening is the card will lose it connection to the call server and drop then bring itself back up. I get an srpt error when it drops. I have changed out the ssc card the dsp daughter boards the Ethernet cable back to the customers blade, the port the on the customers LAN. We have also replaced the rack mount chassis. When i looked at the acpd (automatic centralized pep distribution) It showed that the card passed the test last night but the date stamp on the acpd report showed yesterday and all the other cards showed today??? But the patches on the card show todays date?? Also some of the other cards show that they failed the test but i have had no problems with them. Any help I AM STUMPED?? Thanks

I'd reload the SSC card via the software stored on a PCMCIA card in slot A, but I would format the daughterboard first via "ctrl" B. Once the media software has been reloaded, do a full system reboot on all cabinets to make sure that they all sync up OK.

All the best

If it's working, then leave it alone!.

Does it show any codes on the display of the media card when it goes down? I think Gxx codes means it lost Tlan connection, there is a patch for that.

Another thing to consider - we upgraded our Foundry router IOS and it started wrecking havoc with our MC32 cards on our CS1000 (with SSC cards) so if your company recently did any network router upgrades/changes I would investigate that. We also had an SSC that was giving us trouble before that and replacing the daughterboards resolved - we have known bad out-of-box daughterboards as they are static sensitive ... also check your ground on the chassis ;)

Hi
I have seen this fault on several cs1000s and the only way of fixing it is to reload the daughter board on the media gateway , it seems to happen when there is a power down even under controlled circumstances and can reoccur
Regards

We had the same problem on a SSC card. We had to upgrade the card to NTDK20JA and upgrade the firmware on the SSC. We also upgraded all of the patches to 4.5. Haven't had a problem since.
