I have a Survivable Media Gateway, that I need to Replace with a standard MGC.

The Survivable Site No Longer has any Local Trunking, so the Thought is to Move the Resource back to the Lab, and Reload the Base OS , and keep the resource on the shelf as a Spare ( we have a few other SMG'S)

I think its pretty straight forward in ld 117 ~ But figured I would Ask the Group

Thanks

The SMG I guess is just an MGC with a separate CPPM Callserver and a Sig server or a CPDC with co-res Callserver and Sig Server, either way they have nothing to do with the MGC. Just remove the DB replication in the Main System, so there would be in LD 117 a GRSC, BKPS, and a BKPR associated with the SMG that can be removed, if it is the only SMG on the system the GRDRC can come out as well. Then just remove and sig server / callserver hardware from the gateway site.

Yep would need to remove any routing and any NCS config from NRS/Session Managers as KCFLHRC mentions.
