Release 5.0 CS1K we have 2 cores 0 and 1. We ordered a full core spare and loaded the software, loadware and deplist. Rebooted but when the BIOS page apears it says press any key to continue and will not go past this. If we do press a key after about a minute it looks as though its going to go past it but just goes back to the same page and stays at " press any key to continue". Anyone run across this??

Did you format the admin partition when it asked you to? Are these P IV's ???

Yes. Did the format and they are P IV's.

When you chose the install letter did you choose A, B or what?

Chose a which is software and bootrom. Chose not to put in any database at this time.

There is probably no dongle, right? I wonder if that's why it is doing that?

Dongle or no dongle , does the same thing.

Is the 1 gb compact flash card on board on the Processor? I have seen them shipped without them.

The 1GB compact flash is what we had to replace. We purchased 2 new ones. We had a spare core so we decided to load the software to the flash.

It's not beyond reason that you received a faulty compact flash that you installed on the CPPM CS. Did you flip the dip switch to tell it it's a CS and not a SS?

I'm assuming you are using your original boot flash for the faceplate when you boot? It could have gone bad also, I suppose...

It is not a CPPM, it is a CP PIV. This is the style that has the CP PIV, system utility card and power supply in 1 box.

So let me get this straight. You ordered 2 new 1 gb blank compact flash cards to go on board the CPU's. Then you tried installing the software that you had on another compact flash by putting it into the faceplate drive, correct? These new Cf cards, where did they come from and what brand are they?

They were ordered from Avaya. I have solved the problem. When it boots up you must quickly hit the F2 key to get to the BIOS setup.

PHOENIX BIOS SETUP UTILITY

MAIN ADVANCED CHIPSET SECURITY HARDWARE MON BOOT EXIT

QUICKBOOT MODE [DISABLED]
Boot Only VxWorks [DISABLED]
Summary Screen [ENABLED]
Boot Time Dianostics Screen [ENABLED]

Had to enable Boot Only VxWorks. It now boots past this screen and boots up to the PBX command Line.

Thanks all for your assistance.

Never seen one you had to do that with. Very strange
