I have a 7.0 fully patched linux and deplist wise. I have my back up rules set and if i use a back up rule to do the back up it goes through the motions and fails at the very end after sending the database. When you log into the other end if you do a rsr for the back up rule it will restore and then you have to do a sysload and it is there. So i know it is send the database but not not restoring it or sysloading the cs. Any help would be greatly appericiated. Just for info primary is cppm cs and cots server and smg is a cpmgs card. Thanks in advance.

Do you have the backup rules programmed in the remote site? Should like this.

Geographic Redundancy status: Secondary CS Active

Days remaining in licensed period 87

I did get an ftp error lart time i looked not sure what is up with that. like i said. when the bkr is done it actually sends the database it just doesnt restore or sysload after restore.

I think your problem is the Geo redundant server is active. See the last two lines of your stat gr command showing that the Secondary CS is active and 87 days remaining for licensing.

When your Geo Redundant CS is active, no restores will be allowed.

(Note that I'm new to a Geo Rendundant system - just installed last month on 7.5, and I am going from memory of some stuff I read in the manuals.

YMMV).

This is part of your problem

mode: Manual

Plus your Call server is active and shouldn't be as curtismo said. Sure looks like you have a network issue. try some simple ping commands each direction and make sure each Call Server can ping the other.

it showed manual because that was how the last back up and restore was done. I was able to ping everything . It ended up being a patch needed in the primary call server as well as static routes placed in the co-res from each piece of equipment to the gateway. Once thatwas done it works great. Here is the command to enter the static route.

routeconfig add -host <affected MGC ELAN IP address > -gw <cores ELAN gateway> -dev eth0

Yeah that Geo should be inactive. You will have to get those 2 MGC off there first I believe before it will go inactive though.
