Guys

Just wanted to run this past you all and get some feed back.

We're currently having some trouble with our CS1000T which is leading the MG's to reboot; since they house our PRI cards we're loosing external Comms and hence I have some unhappy staff.

I've extracted some bits from the logs:

>> PRI202 DCH: 79 DATA: 0000000E 0000000D
This seems to happen quite a lot ? ?

>> QOS Rating for link 3 is ***POOR***
>> Average values for last 50 samples:
>> Round Trip Delay = 327.865 msecs.
>> Packet Loss = 0.000 %
>> PDV Underflows = 0
>> PDV Overflows = 0
>> SRPT182 QOS rating for link 3 is POOR

Is this message about the SLAN or the ELAN?

>> SRPT016 OMM: IP link is DOWN between Call Server/Main
>> Cabinet and Media Gateway/Expansion Cabinet 3
>> SRPT017 OMM: IP link is UP between Call Server/Main
>> Cabinet and Media Gateway/Expansion Cabinet 3

This also happens for Cab 1. Again is this SLAN or ELAN. It mentioning link 3 seems to point to the SLAN (Ethernet daughter board on Call server/SSC etc)

We've tried swapping out the Call Server/SSC card along with the Ethernet daughterboard but that made no difference.
Also tried swapping out the serial/Ethernet transceiver the upshot of which was the SSC card died for an unknow reason and wouldn’t boot (orange status light and the MG IP link lights flashed red – no console output). We ended up swapping back to the original SSC card and serial/Ethernet transceiver.
I’ve checked the Ethernet switch Baystack 470 and it’s not showing any errors other than the odd frame collisions here and there which are common.

The latest error message I’ve got is:

>> Warning: PDV buffer for port# 3 may need to be changed. Too many Overflows: 1.

No idea what this means…

Any ideas guys?

Thanks in advance…

Rich

We had a similar issue recently and it ended up that we were missing a couple of patches. One addressed watchdog timeouts and the other I don't recall. There is also new firmware available for the MGC cards and TMDI firmware that helps them restore on their own instead of having to manually bump them a half dozen times or so.

Nice one, I know we're a bit behind with the patches so it's a starting point.

I'll give it a go...

Cheers

Rich
