Ok, well I have never patched or updated the switch. Which NTP would I want to look at. There is one patch I know of that we need that I don't think is loaded. (MPLR26202 - My time of day is still off kilter if I turn on NTP)

So, I was wondering if anyone could toss out some things to know/watch for and some instructions.

We have no maintenance contract with any vendor and it is on my shoulders . . so just turning to the experts.

Deplists are installed in LD 143 using the MDP INSTALL / REFRESH command. However I think your main probem will be getting the Deplists in the first place as they are kept on a retricted part of the Nortel website.

Ok how far off am I as far as the Deplists? Is it worth all the trouble or should I just say forget it?

I'm not sure how you could get the patches without a vendor or partner helping.

Our company is a Nortel Partner, so I know if asked correctly i could get them. I just want to know what I am doing and how to do it before I start asking for things. We work with Nortel on a completely different application so my knowledge of the CS1000E is limited.

Do you have access to the NTP's (books or Helmsman CD) if so the commands are highlighted in LD 143. BUT... Some patches require an INI, so take care and make sure you read any Read Me files, or instructions associated the the patch

pbxn, Yeah I am looking at the NTP's right now for LD 143. Having no clue what half the terms are though it is a little intimidating. Is there an easy way to see what patches I am missing? Or is it one of those if you don't know you need it then don't install it type of things?

you (Vendor or parnter, whoever has access) can run your pbx against Nortel and it will show what is current, not current, and needed on the Nortel website. A lot of patches just came out last week for the cs1000e

Looking at the MDP ISSP the Deplist was created on 22 Jan 2008, and installed on 24 Jan 2008, So any new patches released since then will be missing. If you get access to the Nortel PEP site you will be able to download the latest Deplist.

You could use MIRCC (Meridian ISSP Report and Conflict Checker)...You cut and paste the list have a look at the ESPL Nortel Library on patches, but I guess you'll need that level of access to it

Cheers!!

The current DEP list has over 170 patch's in it, so as you can see, yours is outdated. ;) Do you have EM? If so, you can also use that to add the DEP list.

I do have EM . . . any clues where to look in there?

Be advised there is currently a bulletin out about the new DEP list cuasing the HSP between the cores to go down. Make sure that is resolved before installing.
