Is there a way to establish when IP extensions were last used?

We have historical issues with staff members leaving or moving on and their associated IP extension being left in circulation. In the past we have addressed this issue by requesting an up to date extension list from all Sections concerned. However with over 1000 users and multiple sections this proves to be a time consuming process.

Just wondered if there is a way to simply this process.

There are a number of ways of finding out via a snapshot of what sets are currently connected.

One way is to go into LD 117 and key in INV GEN SETS. log out and try again in e.g. 1/2 hour or perhaps a little longer for large systems and key in LD 117 INV PRT SETS.

Capture the data and save it as e.g. sets.csv. Use excel to view the output and you will be able to see what IP sets aren't in service.

If you want when a set was last used start collecting CDR
 
A simple no cost option is to have HR send you lists of all the people who left / were asked to leave every month, there will be some delay but if this is done efficiently you will capture all the numbers going forward, you will still have to cope with current unused extensions though.
We have to deal with 20,000+ people and for the most part this works well.
 

Thanks for the feedback from all. We do receive notifications of leavers but sometimes the associated position is placed on hold where the post may be filled at a later date and Sections want to hold onto the extension 'just in case'. In addition users move within our company and are then provisioned with a new number and the legacy number is left behind unused.

Will just continue with the tried and tested - we only cover 2 or 3 times a year so not a massive overhead in the grand scheme of things.

trvlr1 - The fact you look after 20,000+ users pales my 1000+ into insignificance :)
