CS1000 Unistim Phones on the Avaya Side 2

I am curious, why is it that most places such as hospitals with 1100 and 1200 series IP phones upgrade to the Avaya side, they aren't carrying over their 1100 and 1200 Unistim IP Phones? I personally think it's a waste of investment to throw these sets away, as they are quite beautiful sets.

A large hospital in Indiana had just upgraded thousands of phones in 2014 to the Avaya 1230 Unistim sets. They recently ripped them out and replaced them with Avaya 9608 sets. I thought Avaya had some new platform that will allow you to use Unistim software (not the limited SIP software) on the Avaya side?

If you can use Unistim on the Aura side, will this mean you will still get your favorite Nortel call buzz when a second call comes in, or the "short click" when you dial on the dialpad? You Nortel guys know the features I am talking about.

Because up to this point when you flash an 1100 series phone to SIP the phone loses a lot of functionality.

Avaya just announced at the IAUG meeting that there is now a Breeze application that mimics the functionality of the CS signaling server so that 1100 series sets can stay UniStim but work with the Avaya CM.
 
And from my point of view, after all Avaya has done to their customer's, why would you stay with them anyway?
 
The only reason I'd stay with them is that I love the 1100 and 1200 series IP Phones. It's hard to find an IP Phone that looks as good as those on a desk, just my honest opinion. I hate waste, and I hate that instead of maintaining those 1100 and 1200 series phones, Avaya is convincing owners to just dump them for their sets. I'd still take a 9608 over a Cisco 7900 series phone anyday, but the fact that great IP Phones are being thrown away for sets that aren't anywhere near as exciting as the 1100 series sets is a bit dissapointing. Just my Joe Sus opinion again, take it with a grain of salt.

But then again, I also deserted to the E-MetroTel side personally.

The 1140 is an awesome phone as well as the Digital 3904, they just work.
 
I totally agree on the 1140 IP sets and the M3904. Considering the length of time the M2616 sets phones were around, they weren't that bad either.

We cut our install time in half when the 3904 phone came out and we weren't sitting for hours if not days labeling 2616's. It was happy times for sure.
 
My favorite thing on the M2616, the perfectly placed RLS button in the Red Color. Sounds stupid I know, but it was a great button, perfectly placed kind of off center, to release calls and overhead pages.
