In the Nortel CS1000, Release 6.0 - if a phone is forwarded either in software or manually to another phone, if the 2nd phone goes unanswered or is busy the system will follow the forwarding of the original phone dialed.

Example:

x2222 forwards to x3333 on RNA/busy
x3333 forwards to voice mail on RNA/busy

Caller dials x2222 - call goes unanswered and forwards to x3333
x3333 is busy or unanswered.

Instead of the call forwarding to voice mail, system looks at forwarding on original number dialed (x2222) and follows the forwarding of that number which is to forward to x3333. Thus, x3333 continues to ring and never goes to voice mail.

Is there a way to change this parameter so that the call would follow the fowarding of the 2nd line, x3333. Can it be done to effect just these two numbers or can it only be changed as a system-wide parameter?

Thank you for your reply. I am working in Element Manager. This particular instance involves analog 2500 phones. There is a CLS feature and the choices are:

Unrestricted
Toll Denied
Semi-Restricted
Fully Restricted
Conditionally Unrstd
Conditionally Toll Denied (current choice & I believe the default)
Fully Restricted Cls 1
Fully Restricted Cls 2

My apologies that I didn't read your first post correctly. I found SFA and changed it to allowed on both phones in question. I forwarded first phone to 2nd phone. I dialed first phone - call forwarded to 2nd phone and rang 2nd phone 4x then forwarded BACK to the FDN of the 1st phone. So, still no success. :-(

Post the TN's on phone profiles...Lets have a look for you

Could be RDR (Redirect) settings aswell in CDB but that's sysem wide

First lets look at the basics

Cheers!!
