I have a cs1000M at 5.0, CallPilot 4.0 and CC 6.0. Will be upgrading callPilot to 5.0 and CS1K to 6.0 and noticed since 7.0 was just released now 6.0 has manufacturer disc date of Nov 2011. CS1K 6.0 has end of Life date Nov 2016.

My thoughts are - upgrading is expensive so go with 7.0 since it is current. Or go with 6.0 to be safer and sleep at night.

Anybody have any experience with 7.0 yet?

7 is out in beta but i have not seen anyone here post fyi info on 7.. i would wait.. no reason to think 7 will have issues major enough for sleepless in ?..

one good thing about a new rls, a nortel support team is waiting for any problems.. i did one beta for nortel, their tech support usually were working on problems before my cust knew it was broke.. that's been 20 years back..

The more I think about it, for my own longevity I will have to go with 6.0 because my company is not very tolerant with downtime for any reason. I have been here almost 2 years and I have heard in the past when the pbx went down you have directors and VPs breathing down your back - a lot of yelling and swearing.

Just completed CS1K 7.0 Admin and management class. A few things really stuck, the patching for 7.0 is broken! And 7.5 is due out this year. Somehow when patching 7.0 UCM is affected. No word if patching is going to be fixed, not sure if 7.5 is the fix.

What I know is that none of our lab systems had any patches of any kind, and for most of the students,UCM & Virtual terminal was inconsistent.
