Does anyone have their HiPath behind a CS1000?

Our CS1000 is set up for 7 digit dialing. (356-1234).

However, when I send 356-1234 to the CS1000 from the Hipath, it returns "Message not compatible with call state or message type nonexistent or not implemented".
Odd thing is that the phone on the other end beeps, or does a quick ring, then drops with that message.

We've had to resort to dialing out on a local trunk and dialing back in the the switch using a steering code. (when I dial 356-1234, the ODR changes it to 9-356-1234).

This is good, but with only 23 local lines, I'm choking here when I try to do a conference call.

Is there something else I should be sending?

Is there a good way to see if that message is coming from the Nortel to the Hipath or if the Hipath is generating it?

Better yet, is there any way to really see if the call is being dropped from the Hipath or the Avaya?

I Know I get error 98: ""Message not compatible with call state or message type nonexistent or not implemented"." but from which end?

You should have 'Client Preparation' completed on the Assistant Home Page

In the HiPath Assistant.

Go to Diagnostics/Switch Diagnosis Support/Real Time Diagnisis System.

If it is not there then allow it/turn it on in Base Administration/Application Control

When it does come up, type anything in User Name and click on Logon
Then Click on the Left - Monitor Trunk/Line/Data Line/ISDN Trace

Another window opens, Put in the PEN on the Left
Use Type ISDN Tracer
Click on Start on Right Hand Side

Click on ISDN Trace Display

Make your test call, you should see IN/OUT messages

You can also setup a Trunk Monitor as well to see digits etc. going out.

Hope That Helps.

Thank You!

It was inbound, so the avaya is disconnecting us.

Glad you got it sorted.
Meant to add that you can double click on the messages themselves and get a better overview of what is actually sent/received, also you could save the individual messages as csv.
