Do auto-attendant announcements/Voice Mail options that one hears when calling a number after hours provide any clues if the system is CS1000?

It's possible to get an idea from some of the pre recordings done by Nortel, but there were a number of different voice patterns used across the globe.

Thank you Firebird Scrambler for your response.

Please advise where/how I can know the various voice patterns per-recordings done by Nortel for the US market.

Sincerely,

Michael.

Hello Michael

Meridian Mail and Call Pilot voicemail systems used different tapes or CD-ROMS that used a mixture of default languages, which depended upon the region where it was installed.

In the UK, we usually had the female English voice, whereas other countries might have had other default languages etc.

Those of us who were maintaining these systems, tended to get to recognise the tone and phrases when making test calls and it didn't take that long to work out whether the number you were calling was connected to a Nortel switch.

The same thing applied to other voicemail manufacturers that used different voice artists.

Most Nortel Meridian Mail and Call Pilot voicemail systems came with the option to load in more than one language.
