CS100 voip 2212's existing. Adding 6140's

I have a customer using 2212 wireless phones and configuration cradle. I am trying to add 6140 phones with the Handset administration tool. I have the correct firmware loaded on the 6140 but the phone keeps showing "NO SVP RESPONCE". Can I use the same configuration as the 2212 phones? Do I need to upgrade the 2245 and 2246 and if so how?
