Hi,

How can i deploy a solution of a shared addressbook on a linux server and win clients using Outlook express?

Thanks for any feedback

Are you connected to an Exchange or Domino server, or do the clients access their mail via other means (POP or IMAP)?

I don't think that OE clients can share a single address book at the same time, unless its on an Exchange or Lotus Domino server. If its on Exchange, create the address book under the Public Folders.

With Outlook Express, its not possible since OE can only have one address book. If you use another version of Outlook, other than Express, then it may be possible. Create a personal address book (.pab) and copy it to a Samba share that is accessible to everyone. Map the share to a drive letter; M:, for example. Have all of your Outlook clients use that address book off the M: drive. The problem with this is, it may only be possible to have this open on one workstation at a time. Everyone after the first person who opens it may receive errors or only be able to open it in read-only mode.

Let us know how it goes.
