Crystal11 sum formula different groups

Using Crystal 11, have a report that looks like this:

group1:FundName
group2:ClassName
Details: date1 - shares outstanding - total assets
date2 - shares outstanding - total assets
date3 - shares outstanding - total assets

I need to create a formula that will sum shares outstanding only on the max date (date3) for all ClassNames.

I am having a hard time creating this formula given the groups. This result of this formula would be the same for all ClassNames. Please let me know if you have any questions, thank you for your help.

First sort by your date field, descending. Then insert a running total that sums the desired field, evaluate on change of group (classname), reset on change of group #1 or never, depending upon your needs. Or do a separate running total for group footer #1 and for the report footer. Results will only be accurate in the footer sections.
