Crystal XI MAS 90 Adding Date Prompt to Report Header ends up blank

I am creating a cross tab report where I've created an invoice date prompt. The report runs correctly using the date prompt in the selection criteria. When I add the ?dateprompt to the report header, the field shows up as blank. In our older version of crystal running on a sql database, I would create a new formula with the prompt in it in order for it to show correctly. This does not work here.

How do I add the date prompt to the report header so that it will show automatically?
