Hi,

I'm using CR XI, the ERP system we use needs a \ at the end of the alias name so users don't need to put in the username and password everytime a report is run, I'm sure it's a reg hack to be able to remove \ from the special character list, but i can't find it, It used to work, then i re installed CR XI ( because it's running really slow on my PC - but thats another problem ) now I've re installed it won't allow me to put the \ anymore.

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks,

Mick.

Where are you trying to put the \?

You can paste your own SQL in as a datasource, if that helps. Use the Add Command mbelow the data source to do so.

Otherwise your post doesn't make much sense, Crystal doesn't have an alias naming except when you add in a table for the second time...

Try using Crystal terms and describe what you are doing within Crystal.

Hi,
Yes It's the actual table names I'm referring to, so for example a table named CUSTOMER_INFO, i would then go into database expert and rename it to be CUSOMER_INFO\, then when I add the report to our erp system ( IFS ) you are not prompted for a username and password. We had this problem when we first used CR XI but we found a reg hack 'HKCU\software\business objects\suite 11.0\crystal reports\database\InvalidAliasCharList' This was not present in my registry so i manually added it, rebooted but still it won't allow me to add '\' to the end of the table name, I think there is also a hotfix for this, but i installed SP2 but still nothing.

Have you come accross this before or have any idea how i can get this to work?

Thanks,

Mick.

Ahhh, sorry, no, I wasn't aware of this hack.

Contact your ERP vendor, they must know.

Did you try using the Add Command instead?
