Running Windows 2003 Terminal server with Cyrstal reports 8.5 experiencing compiled reports that sometimes work and sometimes not. Basic crystal report non compiled works all the time. Has anyone see this issue?

Makes sense that you'll have issues, CR 8.5 predates 2003 TS.

By compiled reports I assume that you mean those reports which were compiled using the Crystal compiler, not a 3rd party application.

Saying sometimes works is pretty vague, do you receive an error, a blank screen, or? Please try to convey basic information in your reports.

There were known issues with the compiler in XT sometimes, changing the compatibility mode for the programs to Windows 2000 did the trick.

Thanks. The screen when you push the RUN button, a message will state can't sql. What do you mean by changing the compatibility mode for the programs to Windows 2000? How and where is that done?

A message say can't SQL? Never heard of such a message, are you trying to save time by not providing all of the information?

Right clicking the EXE and selecting Properties->Compatibility allows for changing it on XP.

Thanks, the message states....Can't Open SQL Server.....

No matter what compatibility mode (NT and 2000)still receive the message from above.

Thanks

Connectivity issues are based on the type of connectivity you are using.

Perhaps each client needs the ODBC installed and some do not have it, or the ODBC connectivity is only available to some users. I'm not familiar enough with TS to say definitively, but I'd guess it's something along these lines.

There's another recent thread that details ODBC issues with Terminal Services.

I can't find it but it within the last few months....
