Crystal + VB

is it possible to do a select statement in vb and then pass it on to crystal?

right now i have many reports all with different select statements, i was wondering if i could just make my selections in vb and pass it on to crystal and just reuse the same one report. Like maybe make a query in vb and pass it to crystal for report generating?

You can either build a Crystal syntax formula in VB and pass it to the selection formula of the reports. Or, you can build a record set in VB and pass it. thanks for the reply Ken. I knew it could be done. Do you know where I can find more info on how to do this or perhaps examples? I am probably not going to redo all my reports but it would be nice to know for the future.

There are several good resources for VB material. Crystal comes with a developers guide, and there are several application examples on their web site. There are also several independent books that you can buy, including my own "Quick Reference Guide". Another very popular book that covers all of Crystal is the "Complete Reference" by George Peck.
