Hi,

A client is wanting Crystal V11 bc of a purported ability this version has to prompt users for extensive parameters before executing reports. Like from/to dates, entities/attributes etc...

I've also heard that Crystal V10 already does this - does anyone know the answer to this?

Thanks.

Hi sweetleaf,

I've been using crystal from v7 to 10 and you could always use from/to parameters in reports. What do you mean by entities (as a parameter)? You can pretty much use any parameter as long as it interprets correctly and is valid.

Thanks for the reply.

Can these functions/features be done in V10 or V10.5?

-Provides Dynamic and Cascading prompts
-Provides HTML preview and Generation
-provides re-purposing to different formats - PDF, EXCEL, Powerpoint, etc
-provides Self Serve - IT Centralization of operational reporting and all report authoring out to the users
-Uses business views to move between development and production
-Ability to build end user interactivity into reports
-easy integartion of queries

Thanks.

Hi Sweetleaf,

-Provides Dynamic and Cascading prompts
* No - only as of version XI *

Provides HTML preview and Generation
-provides re-purposing to different formats - PDF, EXCEL, Powerpoint, etc
-provides Self Serve - IT Centralization of operational reporting and all report authoring out to the users
-Uses business views to move between development and production
-Ability to build end user interactivity into reports

* Crystal Reports v10 with Crystal Enterprise V10 can do the above. *

-easy integartion of queries

* really depends on your datasource and it's complexities but relatively easy in V10*

I hope this answers your questions

Cheers
