This is a file/program that will allow me to use the RTGET function. It is not normally installed during the basic installation.

Does anyone know if this is compatible with the Macola version of Crystal? I have looked at both the Exact and Crystal Websites with no luck.

I want to use the RTGET function to get the last number from a running total list and display it. Then I can suppress the running total data and make the report readable. I only need the last number, not the detail. This is for monthly data per item.

Other suggestions welcomed.

To get the last number from a running total list, just place the formula in the group footer or report footer, as the case may be -- in other words, before the running total is reset.

If this does not answer your question, please provide more detail including database values, current results and expected results.

Tried that. Result is zero either way.

I am using the IMINVTRX file for the data.

Currently the report is filtered for current year data and doc types of I & R only.

Grouping is:

IMITMIDX (for item number & name)

Details are comprised a running total formula for each month in a single row.

Each running total is built on:
1. Summary = summing a qty formula (used to correct returns to a negative number)

2. Evaluate = based on a monthly formula (@modate) that extracts the 2 digit month from the transaction date ( 01, 02...). I then set it equal to the month I want i.e. @modate = "01"

3. Reset is set to change on the field @modate

The report runs correctly.

I have the solution.

The running total reset has to be for the group not the field that changes within the group.

It also requires that the running total be placed in both the detail and the footer.

Suppress the detail and I have a row of totals by month.

Thanks to lbass in the Crystal forum for the help.

Now to bring in the previous years data...
