Crystal to Excel - £'s signs to $

I'm not sure if this is a Crystal or an Excel problem.

A number of Crystal Reports (8) when exported to Excel and opened up on one of my users machines changes pound signs to dollars. The same reports work ok on other machines. Both Office 97 and 2k have been re-installed but the problem still remains.

Does anyone have any idea's? Thanks
