I have a main report and then added a sub-report in detail section. The database fields from main report show up, but the database fields from sub-report do not display on execution. I have only one database table hence no linking possible.
Any help on how the sub-report database fields can be displayed in the report?

Run the sub report on its own.

If you have not imported then right click and then select save subreport as.

If it runs on its own and has no linking then it should run in you main report.

should I insert the subreport in the detail section of the main report or any suggestions.

The location of the sub report depends on what you are trying to achieve.

Please first confirm that the sub report is running.

Then tell us what you want to achieve.
