Crystal server

I downloaded crystal 11 server but cant see the crystal designer anywhere.

I thought crystal server was the most comprehensive product and would have everything.

Do i need to download a separate addon to this to run designer?

Yes.

Crystal server comes with a designer license, but it is on a separate Cd and is a separate download. Crystal server is the software that runs as a service on your server, and allows you to publish reports over the web, allows user to access and run reports over the web, etc. It is not primarily used to design reports.

So if we purchase the Crystal Server 11,then we would get the designer as part of package?

Also what is the exact software we would need to download for designer to add to the server already installed?

Yes you get 2 CDs, Crystal Reports Server XI and Crystal Reports Developer XI.

Crystal Reports Developer XI is what you need to download, I do not have the exact filename or URL for it. Google "Crystal reports developer XI download" and you should find it.

One other question.We are trying to use crystal with java to display reports/subreports in word/excel or even browser over web.

So reports are placed only at the server but client wishes to see reports in above mentioned formats only.

This is easily doable with crystal? and which product is required to do this, crystal server or just the developer for this?Actually not entirely clear what presenting report over web means.
