Hi,
Having a perculiar problem with Crystal Server running reports which we have created in Crystal Reports XI.

I imported a report which I can log onto the database and view with Crystal Server. However if I change this report and the subsequently the name, I get an error with the database logon (for example "The database logon information for this report is either incomplete or incorrect."). (I tested this by simply opening the report which worked fine in CR XI and then saved it with a new name. This now has the database logon error and cannot be viewed).

I have been successfully running other reports created through CR XI with no problems, until now.

Any ideas?

We have noticed a lot of times if you modify the report in any way on the Crystal Server, it 'loses' the login information, particularly the password. You have to go into the properties of the report and re-enter the password.

I hope this helps.

Hi,
In the BOE version at least, there are a check boxes in the CMC ( under the report properties tab) that designate what is saved/changed/updated when a report is resaved after modification. The same thing may be in Crystal Server's controls.

I have not seen those check boxes (wish we had them).

On "trick" I've recently found is that if you don't configure the default database connection for the report in the CMC and instead use a specified connection that is the same as the default connection, the connection info "sticks" and doesn't get overwritten when you update the report. I haven't tested this with Crystal XI, but it's working with Crystal 2008.
