Hi,

I've just installed Crystal Server for the first time, I'm using the "free" 5 named used version supplied with Crystal Reports XI.

I'm having problems with a couple of reports that I can't schedule, they fail almost instantly with the error "Information is needed before this report can be processed."

I've added around 30 reports, and the problem is occuring with only 4 reports. The thing I can't figure is that when I look at the Database named under the "Database Logon" tab, the failing reports appear to have picked up a different database, one that doesn't bear any relation to any ODBC they currently use.

If I click click on the report name of the failing reports and run them instantly that way, they all work fine, adding further to my confusion.

Any pointers welcome.

Cheers

I have only seen that error when the report has a parameter and you have not entered one.

Select report in CMC and click on Parameters tab, if they are showing as empty then that is your problem. You will need to populate these before scheduling.

The CMC does not prompt for these unless you run through the preview tab, if you run through eportfolio it does prompt for them.

Hi

I've tracked down the problem to being only those reports containing subreports and the problem was the subreport. When looking at the Data Source Properties the name was different to that of the database. Quiet why I'm not sure.

Incredably simple, but not something I've come across before!

Cheers
