First I ask that you bear with me, description is probably more difficult than the solution.

Issue: From a maintenance management application db I am selecting cases based on type and date range. Linked to each case is one or more detail records that contain labor, equipment and material records (allocation type=L,E,M). Material may have mutiple material types. For example, acres, gallons, bags, each and feet. Material types are grouped by type and subtotaled. The report does not accurately summarize material type quantities when there are multiple records. 2000 ft on 03/01/05 and 2500 ft on 03/02/05 etc. It appears that qty value of the final detail record is ommitted at summary.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd try posting:

Crystal version
Database/connectivity used
Example data
Expected output

Though you've done a good job of describing it as text descriptions go.

If you're grouped by Material, and then Material Type, it should perform aggregates just fine. Place the qty field in the details, right click it and select Insert->Summary->Sum

If this doesn't work, please post the type of summaries you're using, and any code involved with them.

Paragraph 1 is repeated here.
From a maintenance management application db I am selecting cases based on type and date range. The report is output to Excel where i 'loose' the detail and still end with a report that is 11x17

Output would appear like this-
Activity Type SE15
WO# LaborHrs EquipmentHrs LaborCost EquipmentCost
MaterialCost TotalCost Measure Units Costper Activity and finally the GF1 holds the Activity, Qty, and Cost/Unit

The qty is calculated correctly for the records selected BUT when i pull the data using WO#s (same WO#s as reported by the 'problem'report), a greater number of detail records are selected and calc'd. i'm new to Crystal and i've turned it every way but loose and can't solve it.

Thanks!
