I have a report and it is grouped my managername (gh1) then clientname (gh2). Is there a way to insert a text object next to the client name when ever the manager name changes within gh2 ?

I.E....

GH1: DAVE
GH2: (Text Field)"Client" Steve
Laura
Jason

GH1: PETE
GH2: (Text Field)"Client" Tom
Mike
Phil

Supress with duplicate does not work as its at group level plus i need to show the text field each time the manager name changes. Any suggestions ?

If you're grouping by managername as G1, then managername can't change within a G1.

If you want something special for the first occurance, do a running total on details. Have special text when this is 1.

If you're not already familiar with Crystal's automated totals, see FAQ767-6524.

Thank you for your response.

So using running totals, it is possible to place the text "Client" at the start of only the first client name after the manager name changes within the G1 ?

Not sure but I think this might be wht you're asking for, replace your text with this formula:

If {manager} = previous({manager}) then " " else "Client

I manipulated the formula a little bit and it worked a treat, thank you !
